LIMA - Un pequeño grupo de simpatizantes y detractores del expresidente peruano Pedro Castillo se enfrentaron este miércoles frente al centro donde está detenido en Lima el exmandatario, acusado de haber dado un autogolpe de Estado.

Los cuerpos de la Policía Nacional de Perú (PNP) han tenido que intervenir con gases lacrimógenos y detener a algunos de los manifestantes para poder liberar la céntrica avenida Alfonso Ugarte, según pudo presenciar EFE.

Con palos, banderas y otros objetos un reducido grupo de violentos se ha enfrentado a golpes y empujones frente a la comisaría donde se encuentra detenido el expresidente, tras su intento de cierre y disolución del congreso peruano.

Los simpatizantes de Castillo lanzaron piedras, adoquines y otros objetos a los cuerpos policiales de la PNP en el centro de la capital peruana en protesta por la detención del expresidente.

Los medios locales no reportaron incidentes mayores en el resto de ciudades del país, donde solo pequeños grupos lamentaron la detención del expresidente.

Castillo dictó este miércoles disolver temporalmente el Congreso e instaurar un Gobierno de emergencia nacional, horas antes de que el Parlamento debatiera una moción de vacancia (destitución) en su contra que podría haberle apartado de la jefatura del Estado.

Tras la medida, tildada mayoritariamente como golpe de Estado y no respaldada ni tan siquiera por su gobierno, fue destituido por el Congreso por "permanente incapacidad moral" con 101 votos de 130 a favor, y arrestado por la Policía.

Después juró la que era vicepresidenta, Dina Bolaurte, como nueva jefa de Estado y llamó a una tregua política para empezar un amplio proceso de diálogo entre las fuerzas e instituciones.
